Annotation
Mortification Records was an international independent record label co-founded in September 2006 by the original members of the Triskalyon collective; namely Alexandre Julien, Der.Walsch and Eric Bryant. Its headquarters were in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, where Julien was living at the time. The company was initially founded to release all of the material by the bands and artists of the Triskalyon collective. Mortification Records briefly relocated to Edison, New Jersey, United States in December 2006, but ultimately resumed operations in Montreal, Quebec, Canada in July 2007.
After the dissolution of Triskalyon in March 2007, Julien assumed full ownership of the company and continued to release music up until March 2008. Mortification Records went under a hiatus later in 2008 after Julien founded his own record label Abridged Pause Recordings. Mortification Records was sporadically brought back for limited edition releases, first in February 2010, and again from August to October 2010, acting as an imprint of Abridged Pause Recording. After nearly 20 releases, Mortification Records folded permanently in late October 2010. Julien continues to operate Abridged Pause Recordings.
